An Epping Forest u3a Steam Locomotive trip with lunch has been booked for Saturday 30^th May 2026. The trip commences at Epping Station at 11.25am, where we will pick up the route 339 Heritage Bus to travel to North Weald Station. If you do not wish to travel from Epping using the Vintage Bus you can travel direct to North Weald Station, however there is no station car park so you would need to use a local car park.

After a short time looking around North Weald Station, built in 1865, & the souvenir shop, we shall embark on the Steam Locomotive to travel to Ongar where a lunch of either fish and chips or sausages and chips or a vegetarian option will be served.  After the Fryer lunch, as your travel ticket offers unlimited travel on the heritage trains and vintage buses on the day of your visit, you have the option to either spend time in Ongar town and independently take a later train home, or at 1.30pm depart from Ongar Station back to North Weald Station, whilst enjoying a dessert, usually ice cream.
