This group engages in the study and discussion of various historical topics and themes, with members taking it in turn to prepare notes on a given subject, circulate them in advance, and then lead the discussion at the meeting immediately following.

At present, and until early 2026, the group is focusing on English history (from 1066 to the early 1700s) with a particular emphasis on the actions of individual monarchs, their impact on their immediate times, their contribution to future developments, and the implications for the current day. Once we have completed this, the group will then decide what other subjects to tackle.
