Memoir Writing

Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
When: Monthly on Wednesday mornings
Venue: Members' Homes

This small group was launched in 2012. Its members engage in writing about their memories of previous life experiences. The topics covered are many and varied. Memories might be from childhood or from earlier life events during adulthood. Members agree what they will write about in group meetings, sometimes covering a common topic and sometimes one that is distinctive to their own experience.

After each meeting members go away and write their own compositions. In subsequent meetings there are opportunities for members to read from their writings and discuss them with other members, exchanging opinions and help.

Collections of these writings have been gathered together into bound collections from time to time either by the group collectively or by specific members. The one factor that binds the members together is their love of writing.

Although membership is limited the group leader is happy to hear from anyone who might be interested in joining. Spaces emerge from time to time and those on the waiting list will have first options to join.

The group meets in Loughton, Wednesday am, once a month.
